Wayne Songy Sr
Wayne has such a passion for helping others live the American Dream.
Wayne Songy is President & Owner of Wayne Songy & Associates, located in Metairie behind Clearview Shopping Center, where he enjoys actively selling Real Estate. Some of his previous experience includes: For 13 years, he worked for Buccola McKenzie Realtors, then Executive Vice President for Wagner & Truax, Better Homes & Gardens – where he built his knowledge in rental & property management & for 4 years, oversaw 450 agents within the company. Both agencies were sold out to other companies, causing Wayne to start his own Company, where he has been for 27 years.
Wayne is from New Orleans & grew up in Metairie. He went on to gain much experience by continuing his education through more programming-the GRI Graduate Realtors’ Institute), CRB (Certified Residential Broker), & CAM (Certified Apartment Manager, which was awarded by the National Apartment Association). The amazing part is less than 1% of all realtors have completed all 3 programs. Outside of this rigorous schooling, Wayne found time to be President of the Jefferson Board of Realtors, & Past District President of the Arkansas/LA District Exchange Clubs.
Fay’s sister has been Wayne’s assistant for 30 years, & actually introduced them! Wayne & Fay have been married about 17 years & will celebrate their 17th year this November. They have 2 daughters, Terri & Anita & a son to continue the family name, Wayne Jr. They are also blessed to have 10 grandchildren! They reside in Mandeville.
Wayne enjoys watching LSU and Saints Football He is involved in many family activities. Wayne’s burning desire is to always remain just as happy as he is now & wishes the same happiness for his children & grandchildren!
Wayne’s Key to Success is that he truly loves what he does. Plain & simple – the Golden Rule – he treats others, how they would want to be treated.
Wayne “Butch” Songy Jr
I grew up in Metairie where I attended St. Christopher Elementary School, Archbishop Rummel High School, and the University of New Orleans. In 1993, I moved to Slidell where I began a 20 year career as a teacher. During this time I coached many youth sports teams, and was involved with St. Tammany Toys for Tots.
I have been happily married for almost 26 years and have 3 children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and a faithful German Shepherd. My entire family is active in the Slidell tennis community where we participate in charity tournaments for groups such as Make a Wish, and the Boys’ and Gils’ Club. We are active members of our church parish where my wife and I help in marriage preparation, my son serves as Youth Group director, and my daughters are on leadership and retreat committees to work with younger children. We are also a proud Tiger family as my son is a graduate and now teacher at Slidell High School and my daughters are both students there and participate in many school clubs and activities.
My career in real estate as a realtor and property management specialist is very exciting and rewarding. I also recently obtained my Broker’s License so I can assist my clients even more. I so enjoy the many people I meet and the opportunity to help them achieve all of their real estate goals and dreams!
Bob Van Den Akker, CRS GRI
Bob has been in real estate for over 30 years and holds both the CRS and GRI designations. CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers and brokers. He specializes in foreclosed properties as well as property valuations for estates, loss mitigation, ICC funding, etc.
Bob grew up in New Orleans and attended John F. Kennedy High School. He currently resides in Kenner with his wife Gloria. When not selling real estate, Bob donates his time and talents to Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana where he serves as board president.
I grew up in Gretna, La., attended Holy Cross High School and went on to graduate from Nicholls State University with a B.S. in Production Management. I now live in Terrytown, La. and belong to the Christ the King Church Community. I am a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and the Christ the King Men’s Club. I also volunteer on the Christ the King Fair Committee. I regularly attend the Terrytown Civic Association Meetings to keep up with what’s going on in our community.

Graduated from Archbishop Chappelle and U.L.L. She has 35 years of outside sales in the medical profession, computer sales, and mortgages. She has been licensed since 2012. She has 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren. She has won numerous sales awards over the years.
Roger “RJ” Barba IV
I graduated high school in 2011. Went on to study marketing at Southeastern and earned my Real estate license in 2014 at 21 years old. Since then I’ve been working in sales, rentals, and property management.
One of the things I love most about real estate is helping young people, couples, and families find and buy their first home! I am very tech savvy and easy to get along and work with!
My name is Michael R. Chamberlain and I have been a REALTOR for a few years now and have really enjoyed this exciting career path. I have found working with Wayne Songy and Associates very fulfilling professionally and the agents there have been just wonderful. I grew up in the Midwest and moved to Louisiana in the early 80’s. I was in the medical field for many years and successfully owned and operated several independent pharmacies.
In 2012 I sold all my stores and committed to a new career path in Real Estate. I am married 24 years with two children and presently live in Ponchatoula, LA. I’m active in my church, love dogs, and woodworking. I teach at Delta College as a pharmacy technician instructor and love working with young people. In 2004, I joined the housing industry when I acquired my loan originator license. After Hurricane Katrina, I began working for non-profit organizations where I taught first time home buyer classes and assisted with credit and foreclosure counseling.

Born and raised in New Orleans, I attended Mt. Carmel Academy and The University of New Orleans. I moved to Slidell with my husband Wayne in 1993. I have been a teacher for the past 26 years, and I love spending my free time with my husband and children camping, playing tennis, and enjoying local sporting events and festivals. I have also worked with the St. Tammany Toys for Tots program and the East St. Tammany Relay for Life.
With my husband, father-in-law, and mother all being involved in real estate, I have been around the industry for many years. Since my husband joined the company, I have been helping to promote Wayne Songy and Associates through social media, print advertising, local events, and outreach to past, present, and future clients.
